Jealous!Canada x Reader: Cuddle Night

    Matthew always knew that, since he is the owner of the bear Kumajiro, he was never given the respect an owner deserved. Especially since every two seconds the stupid ball of fur would question who Matthew was. Usually, he wouldn’t refer to Kumajiro as an arrogant, selfish, little HAIRBALL. But then, he had the right since the bear was taking what was rightfully his.

    (Y/N)’s attention.

    Matthew couldn’t be any happier to have a girl like (Y/N) as his girlfriend. His dream and love ever since…a long time. However he always felt he was stuck with the best friend label. But somehow, (Y/N) loved him back. But the nervous Canadian didn’t have the bravery to confess to her, so it went against tradition with (Y/N) confessing to him with bright red cheeks. Darn, Matthew could relive that moment over and over again. But enough about the sentimental talk, Matthew was focused on how to get his girl back.

    Late in the night, Matthew and (Y/N) decided it was finally time to go to sleep and Matthew went into the bathroom to get ready. (Y/N) was already in pyjamas, lying on the bed with the quilt snuggly over her, ready to get to sleep.

    When Matthew was ready, he walked out of the bathroom, only to realise Kumajiro was getting all cuddly with Matthew’s girlfriend. (Y/N) was now sitting cross-legged on the bed, poking Kumajiro’s cheeks, giggling.

    “Aw…you’re so cute…” (Y/N) laughed. Her (E/C) eyes lit up at the bear as it rolled around on the bed, playing and messing around with her. She laughed some more as she started to tickle its stomach, earning a squeak from Kumajiro that even Matthew had to admit sounded cute. Problem was, (Y/N) always had a love for all things cute, so Kumajiro knew what he was doing. He was purposely making (Y/N) stay with him using his powers of cuteness…

    “You’re (Y/N),” the bear said with content closed eyes. Matthew was taken back. Kumajiro forgot the name of his owner but remembered (Y/N)’s name? Well, Matthew couldn’t argue, (Y/N)’s name is a perfectly beautiful name that he loved, it’s just he doesn’t like the way Kumajiro is being so affectionate and sweet to his own girlfriend.

    The bear then tackled (Y/N) in a bear hug, literally. It pounced and dived straight for her chest, sending (Y/N) back to the ground. She laughed and wrapped her arms around Kumajiro. “You’re the sweetest bear I’ve ever met!”

    They just lied there, cuddling, in front of an annoyed Matthew. He could shout at them and get angry…but he could turn to his brother to shout and kick a fuss. No, Matthew was the one to sulk in the corner of the room. Usually, he would have Kumajiro to hold but no, because he was cuddling with his girlfriend. But he was so frozen at the scene, he just stood by the door of the bathroom, watching (Y/N) laugh at Kumajiro. Matthew was so furious to the extent he felt his face go red in fury. In no time he’s probably going to have steam coming out of his ears.

    Matthew pouted as he watched the (Y/N) and Kumajiro rest together. (Y/N) eventually started to look around and looked up at Matthew. She smiled brightly and stopped laughing so she was able to speak to him. “Hey, Mattie, want to join us?”

    He looked at (Y/N), just because her smile showed hints of drowsiness didn’t make it any less perfect. So warm and inviting. She tilted her head in her direction as a signal for Matthew to come over. However the bear was waking up, and instantly realising the current circumstances, sent the closest to a glare the bear’s beady little eyes could manage. Matthew took a step back and looked around.

    “Uh…actually, Maple Leaf, I’ve got some work that I still need to do…” Matthew murmured. He actually had no work to do, but he had a plan. He wants his girlfriend to be happy, and if Kumajiro was making her happy, Matthew would have to tolerate this for a bit. But when it all goes quiet, and the two are asleep, he can get what he finally wanted.

    “But it’s already so late…” (Y/N) sighed after giggling at Matthew’s little nickname for her. Matthew smiled slightly, loving his own nickname for her. Maple Leaf. Not the most unique thing around, but still, it was his personal title for her and she loved it.

    “You just sleep now, Maple Leaf. I’ll come back later.”

    (Y/N) pouted cutely before giving a small smile. “Fine. Night, Mattie.”

    “Night (Y/N)…”



    Half an hour has past and Matthew slowly opened the door to the bedroom. He somehow managed to occupy himself for long enough that (Y/N) and Kumajiro are asleep. Creeping into the bedroom and closing the door behind him, he got ready to go to sleep.

    Crawling into bed, he noticed Kumajiro who was in her arms, sleeping snuggly. Matthew frowned at the bear and slowly, he gently pulled at (Y/N)’s arms, loosening on her grip on Kumajiro. After gently pulling for a few moments, (Y/N) fidgeted in her sleep. Matthew froze, and waited for a few seconds before continuing. Eventually, Matthew was able to get Kumajiro out of (Y/N)’s grasp.

    It was then, the bear woke up and growled quietly at Matthew, making sure not to wake up (Y/N). Matthew pouted at his bear, why was Kumajiro being so mean to him?

    “Who are you?” The bear said angrily.

    “I’m Matthew…” He sighed. He carried Kumajiro away from (Y/N) and put him next to the bed. You’ve spent too much time with (Y/N), I deserve some attention now, he thought triumphantly as he saw the bear crawl on the floor for a bit before getting comfortable in ten seconds flat. It’ll only be a bit of time before Kumajiro climbs back in the bed, but will be forced to sleep on the foot of the bed since Matthew’s going to be with his girlfriend. Matthew then lied back down in bed and finally, wrapped his arms around his (Y/N). His face in her hair, he breathed in her scent and sighed happily.

    “Matthew…?” A drowsy (Y/N) said, confused. She noticed the arms that were wrapped from behind. She then looked at her own empty arms. “Where’s Kuma-”

    “Kumajiro had enough time cuddling with you,” Matthew replied quickly and quietly. Face flushed, he snuggled his face in the crook of her neck. “I think I should have some time as well…don’t you think, Maple?”

    (Y/N) looked at him strangely and then giggled. “Mattie…were you jealous?”

    “Hm? Of course not,” Matthew whispered quickly, almost nervously. “I just want my girlfriend back from Kumajiro.”

    “Your tone of voice sounds so jealous right now…”

    “It does not! I just wonder…I’m your boyfriend. And I’m a perfectly good cuddle-er…why have a bear when you have me?”

    “Kumajiro is your bear, remember that,” (Y/N) giggled. “I do want to cuddle with you! But then Kumajiro looked so cute…and I wanted to see if you could tolerate me cuddling with Kumajiro instead. To see if you got jealous…”

    “I…” Matthew looked away. “So maybe I was jealous…does it matter? I have you now, Maple Leaf, and I’m going to cherish that.”

    (Y/N) shifted so that she was facing Matthew now. She wrapped her arms around him, returning the hug. Kissing Matthew on the lips, she snuggled against his chest. “Don’t worry Mattie, not only do you have me now, but you’ll have me for the future, as long as you love me.”

    “Then I’ll have you for all of eternity,” Matthew replied as he tightened his arms around (Y/N), trying to get rid of all possible space between them. He looked down at his love, looking so small as she cuddled against him. Snoring quietly and oh, so cutely.

    His heart warmed as he kissed (Y/N)’s forehead sweetly, making sure he didn’t wake her up. She still reacted to the kiss as she slept, humming in content and snuggling closer to Matthew. He smiled before closing his eyes, trying to go to sleep.
